Academy Award winning director Asghar Farhadi (A Separation) helms this Iranian-French drama about a young couple who are rehearsing to be in Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman when they’re unexpectedly forced to leave their apartment because the building is collapsing. Their only option is to move into a rundown flat in the center of Tehran. Unaware that the previous tenant was a prostitute, they’re caught off guard by the arrival of a hostile visitor. A violent act and its aftermath dramatically changes their lives – and relationship. The tension and suspense mounts as the husband searches for the assailant. Starring Shahab Hosseini and Taraneh Alidoosti, The Salesman premiered to rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival, where Hosseini won the award for Best Actor, and Farhadi the award for Best Screenplay. Selected as Iran’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film, The Salesman could result in Farhadi’s second Oscar win. (Running Time: 125 minutes)
