Writer/Director Jim Jarmusch (Coffee and Cigarettes, Stranger Than Paradise, Mystery Train) deftly captures the rhythm and meaning of everyday life through the daily routines of Paterson, a bus driver living in the small town of Paterson, New Jersey. Every day, Paterson, perfectly portrayed by Adam Driver (Star Wars, Girls), follows exactly the same routine— he goes to work, comes home, has dinner with his wife, Laura (played by Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani), and goes to the bar for just one beer. But Paterson is also a poet, who each morning before his shift begins scrawls a poem in his notebook. Back home, Laura happily occupies herself with art projects, baking and learning the guitar. Over the course of a week, Jarmusch quietly and humorously details the ordinariness of their lives – making the small moments feel special — and at times, even magical. (Running time: 118 minutes)
