A wearied Swiss architect seeks spiritual and artistic renewal during a voyage to Italy to study the work of the great 17th century architect Francesco Borromini. Fabrizio Rongione (Two Days, One Night) plays the architect, who, along with his wife, bond with a pair of troubled teens during their Italian expedition. Sumptuously photographed, stylized, and philosophical, French-American filmmaker Eugene Green’s La Sapienza uses space and light to explore ghosts from the past and love in the present.
